In a Maine coastal village toward the end of the last century, the swaggering, carefree carnival barker, Billy Bigelow, captivates and marries the naive millworker, Julie Jordan. Billy loses his job just as he learns that Julie is pregnant and, desperately intent upon providing a decent life for his family, he is coerced into being an accomplice to a robbery. Caught in the act and facing the certainty of prison, he takes his own life and is sent "up there." Billy is allowed to return to earth for one day and, time being what it is "up there," fifteen years have passed and he now encounters the teenage daughter he never knew. She is a lonely, friendless child, her father's reputation as a thief and bully having haunted her throughout her young life. How Billy instills in both the child and her mother a sense of hope and dignity is a dramatic testimony to the power of love. Music by Richard Rodgers. Book and Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein.  Based on Ferenc Molnar's play "Liliom" as adapted by Benjamin F. Glazer. as adapted by Benjamin F. Glazer.

October 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 & 16

Comedy. America’s premier comedy playwright delighted audiences with this out-and-out funny story of four couples gathering to celebrate the tenth wedding anniversary of a deputy New York City mayor and his wife. But the host has shot himself in the head (it’s only a flesh wound) and his wife has disappeared! Hilarity abounds as other guests arrive and the cover-up becomes progressively more complex as nobody can remember who has been told what about whom! "Neil Simon makes people laugh - a lot!" -- USA Today

(Audition dates: June 27 & 28, July 18 & 19  1999)
