Pinocchio – A puppet who wants to be a real boy (the most demanding part, with dialog almost throughout, solos in six songs)

 

Gepetto – an old puppet-maker (moderate dialog, solos in three songs)

 

Maria – Pinocchio’s friend (moderate dialog, sings one solo and participate in another song)

 

Tino and Dino – Maria’s brothers (small amount of dialog, participate in one song)

 

Puppetmaster – a villainous operator (moderate dialog, solos in two songs)

 

Sly Fox and Crafty Cat – two shady characters (moderate dialog, sing duet)

 

Canio (Sacrapant) – a puppet friend of Pinocchio (moderate dialog, solo)

 

Tonio, Beppe, Nedda – other puppet friends (small amount of dialog, sing one song)

 

Dictionary, Chalk, Abacus, Calendar – schoolroom characters (small solos in one song)

 

3 children – fellow truants (small amount of dialog, sing w/ chorus)

 

Blue Fairy – fairy (moderate dialog, sing w/ chorus)

 

JC Cricket – Pinocchio’s conscious (small amount of dialog, sing w/ chorus)

 

Chorus – (appears on stage several times as different characters, sing in five songs)
