Twelfth Night FAQs
Where does the performance take place?
MCT’s Shakespeare in the Dell production of Twelfth Night will perform outdoors at the amphitheater at Variety Club in Worcester, PA. The address is 2950 Potshop Road, Worcester, PA 19490. Free parking is available in our lot. Click here for directions.
How does seating work?
The production has benches for seating. Each person will receive 3’- 4’ of space. Spaces will be marked out on the bench.
In addition to seating, what else should I bring?
Please come prepared to be outdoors! A hat or umbrella for the sun or the rain is never a bad idea, we never regret having sunscreen and bug spray, and consider a sweatshirt or blanket in case the weather gets chilly.
Can I bring food and beverages?
Yes, we encourage it! This is a BYO event. Please bring your own picnic dinner, snacks, wine, beer, playful spirit, joyful attitude, etc. to enjoy before or during performances. Audience members of-age are permitted to bring and consume alcoholic beverages. We highly recommend each audience member bring water. Variety Club representatives will be selling food and beverages during intermission.
How long is the performance?
The performance is approximately 2 hours and 10 mins with an 15-20 min intermission.
What happens when I arrive?
Upon arrival, you will park then be greeted at the check-in table and then guided toward the seating area. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early so you can settle in comfortably with your blankets and food/drink.
What kind of access is available for individuals with disabilities?
The outdoor performance seating and indoor restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Please be sure to notify MCT staff if you have accommodations requests.
What happens in the event of extreme weather?
We will perform rain or shine, unless heavy rains make it unsafe for our actors, audience, or sound equipment. In the event of extreme weather, we may cancel or move the performance inside at Variety Club. We will notify you of cancellation or if it will be moved indoors by 12 noon on the day of the scheduled performance.
What is the age recommendation?
Individuals of all ages are welcome to attend Twelfth Night. As the production features some elevated language and kissing, we anticipate the production may be best enjoyed by individuals ages 7 and up. The play will be done in Old English so younger viewers may not understand.
Is there a bathroom available?
Yes, of course! Indoor restrooms are accessible through the Recreation Hall at Variety Club.
What precautions are you taking with regards to COVID-19?
Some of the ways in which we are prioritizing the comfort, health and safety of our patrons, staff and artists include:
A reduction of our seating capacity and limiting person-to-person contact.
All actors, crew, and staff members have been fully vaccinated.
In accordance with new CDC guidelines for vaccinated individuals, masks are now optional for outdoor performances.
Is smoking permitted?
Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere on the Variety Club campus. This includes cigarettes, cigars, vapes, and cannabis.
