Ray DiSandro Memorial Scholarship

Ray DiSandro was a dedicated MCT member who left us too soon in 2016. Talented and kind hearted, Ray wore many hats for MCT and throughout the local community. He worked behind the scenes on sound and technical aspects of our shows, and occasionally showed off his acting and singing skills on stage as well. This scholarship presentation is in his honor, as we remember our dear friend.

Methacton Community Theater has given at least one scholarship to a graduating high school student every year since its inception. We award these scholarships to students who are planning to continue their education and have been active with MCT. Involvement can include acting, dancing, or singing, participating in production activities, stage crew, orchestra, costumes, props, sets, or participating in any of the many MCT volunteer opportunities.

Scholarship Application: Students graduating in their Senior year of High School should request application instructions by sending an email to mctscholars@gmail.com  Applications can be accepted starting in March. The deadline for MCT to receive the completed scholarship application materials is Friday, June 28th 2024.

2023 Recipients

The 2023 Ray DiSandro Memorial Scholarship recipients are Siena Johnson and Jake Taylor. Both students have enhanced our MCT productions with their musical and theatrical talents. In the fall, Siena will attend American University in Washington DC where she plans to continue theater activities while she’s majoring in Legal Studies & Public Health. Jake will be attending Slippery Rock University in their acting program.

Thank you to Diane DiSandro and her family for carrying on Ray DiSandro’s legacy by supporting MCT's next generation of theater talent!
